Remembering Rachel and continuing our work

In honor of 15 years of dedicated work around the globe, the Rachel Corrie Foundation wishes to raise $15,000 to support the programs that carry on Rachel's vision, spirit, and creative energy!

From March 16th through the month of April, the anniversary of her death through the month of her birth, we remember Rachel for her stand in Gaza, commit ourselves to echoing her unwavering commitment to peace and justice, and celebrate her life.

Every year we receive messages from people around the world who find inspiration in her story and include some component of her legacy in their own lives and work. We are honored by these messages, and it motivates us to continue our work as a foundation in a way that continues to impact individuals around the world.

The Rachel Corrie Foundation for Peace and Justice continues the work that Rachel Corrie began and hoped to accomplish, and carries out that work with her vision, spirit, and creative energy in mind. We conduct and support programs that foster connections between people, that build understanding, respect, and appreciation for differences, and that promote cooperation within and between local and global communities. The foundation encourages and supports grassroots efforts in pursuit of human rights and social, economic, and environmental justice, which we view as pre-requisites for world peace.

Our programs reach local and global audiences, spanning the distance from Olympia, WA to Rafah, Gaza. Without financial support from our friends these programs simply aren't possible. Whether it's a book talk, a weekend-long Arab Festival, or a weeks-long soccer tournament in Gaza, we create and sponsor opportunities and programs that directly support our guiding principles:

• Education: We conduct and support projects that educate for peace and justice.
• Connections: We conduct and support projects that foster connections and understanding between peoples on global and local levels with initial and continuing emphasis in the Middle East.
• Art & the Written Word: We conduct and support projects that promote the use of art and the written word in fostering justice and peace.
• Grassroots Participation: We conduct and support projects that educate for, encourage, and facilitate active, individual grassroots participation in bringing to fruition a positive world vision.
