Dear Friends,

This year marks the 10th anniversary of Peace Works, a signature project of the Rachel Corrie Foundation for Peace and Justice. To honor and celebrate the occasion, we will use our 2016 Peace Works to launch a new program, the Rachel Corrie Memorial Lecture.

We are delighted that this inaugural event will feature guest speaker Ilan Pappé, Professor of History at The University of Exeter and Director of the European Centre for Palestine Studies, addressing Why is Palestine Still the Issue? Pappé is author of The Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine, the groundbreaking historical account of the founding of the State of Israel and, most recently, On Palestine, co-authored with Noam Chomsky.

This special event is free to the public and takes place at The Longhouse Education and Cultural Center at The Evergreen State College, Tuesday, May 3, 2016, at 6:30 PM.

We need your help! We welcome cosponsors who want to be a part of spearheading this inaugural Rachel Corrie Memorial Lecture and to ensure that it is a success for years to come. Your support will provide for the staffing and organization, the promotion, and the realization of this first and future event. You will help make possible the much needed conversations that this new project will provide. Can you help us? We would love to include you, your organization, or your business as a cosponsor for 2016 Peace Works and for its launch of the Rachel Corrie Memorial Lecture!

Whether or not you are able to join this effort as a cosponsor, we hope very much that you will be a part of our celebration of Peace Works at ten years! Help us spread the word and join us for this rare opportunity to hear from the well-renowned academic, historian, and social activist, Ilan Pappé.

Thank you,

Jessica Babcock
